Marco Figus

Marco Figus joined the AXIA Team in 2017 in the position of Managing Director and Head of Italy. Marco’s career spans over 35 years in the international financial industry. Prior to joining AXIA, he worked at Nomura International, Rome and Milan, for eight years where he was Co-Chairman - Italy. At Nomura he was responsible for all Italian investment banking activities, ranging from equity transactions, domestic and cross-border corporate finance advisory, as well as fixed income deals. Previous to this, Marco was employed at Lehman Brothers International, London, Rome and Milan, as Managing Director for almost 20 years. Among his many roles, he was Head of European Capital Markets, Member of the European Operating, Investment Banking and Fixed Income Executive Committees and Chairman of European Financial Institutions. In the years before, Marco worked in London and Milan at The Industrial Bank of Japan, The First National Bank of Chicago, as well as Bank of America International, where he began his career in 1982. Marco holds a BSFS in International Economics, from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, Washington, DC as well as an MSc from the Faculty of Economics at the London School of Economics, London, UK.
